Assembly Tips

According to SRAM's official manual, the Power Lock is installed as follows.  :

1. Bring the two ends of the chain together and attach the Power Lock.

2. Press the two halves of the Power Lock until they interlock.

3. Make sure the two halves are correctly aligned and fit snugly.

4. Using chain pliers, or if you don't have pliers, apply the brake and forcefully push the crank to engage the power lock. You should hear and feel a "click" sound indicating that the power lock has engaged.

5. Check if the lock moves freely by hand.
