Built using the latest technologies used in Dura Ace R9100 and Ultegra road components, the Shimano 105 R7000 series offers versatility and enhanced riding performance for broad spectrum and road cyclists. Shifters with improved ergonomics offer the slim look and feel of the Ultegra group. The addition of a middle and rear derailleur and an 11-34T cassette has expanded the CS-HG700 gear range. The highlight of the new 105 is the addition of hydraulic disc brakes with disc features (105 ST-R7025 STI), Shimano's unique to this series. Flat Mount calipers are compatible with Ice Technologies pads and rotors starting at 140mm diameter
The new FD-R7000 front derailleur uses the new link construction first introduced with the Dura Ace R9100 for easy installation and fine-tuning adjustments without the need for special tools. Its new construction better fits the force curve of the hand for reduced effort in shifting and a more flexible cable routing design. The derailleur components have been redesigned for disc-specific frames to accommodate a wider gear range without sacrificing shifting performance.
