Start by measuring your frame triangle
Frame bag fit depends on geometry. A sloping top tube or small main triangle can reduce usable space. Account for bottle cages, cable routing and suspension components. Some products may be labelled as top tube bags, so confirm their actual mounting position from images and descriptions.
- Measure the usable upper edge, lower clearance and internal frame height.
- Check that bag width will not obstruct knee movement.
- Ensure enough room remains to remove bottles with the bag fitted.
- Regularly clean the painted surfaces touched by straps.
Do bicycles of the same frame size take the same bag?
Geometry can differ at the same nominal size. Compare bag dimensions with your own bicycle's main triangle.
Must the bag be filled completely?
No. Contents should fit without straining the zip or making the bag bulge excessively. Choose capacity for what you carry.
