Rear Hubs
A rear hub connects wheel, frame and drivetrain. For Shunfeng hubs and UGR axles, distinguish complete hubs from spares. Check axle dimensions, spoke count, brake attachment and freewheel/cassette system together.

Match the rear hub to frame and drivetrain
Frame attachment and drivetrain standard matter. Threaded freewheels and cassettes use different connections; freehub bodies also have different families. If a name only says disc-compatible, inspect rotor fitting separately. Axle and axle sleeve products are not complete hubs.
- Compare axle type and frame spacing with specifications.
- Match rim and hub spoke-hole counts.
- Verify rotor fitting and freehub standard.
- For spare axles or sleeves, check diameter, length and thread.
Does gear count determine rear hub compatibility?
No. Cassette/freewheel fitting and body standard also matter. Verify drivetrain manufacturer compatibility with the hub.
Can existing spokes be reused after changing hubs?
New hub geometry can change required length. Assess spokes by measurement and calculation, not hole count alone.
