Technologies

The 2-WAY RAPIDFIRE Plus shifter release lever is often referred to as a trigger because it is operated by holding and pulling it like a handgun. From ALIVIO to XTR, the RAPIDFIRE Plus shifters' release levers operate in the same way, but with the added feature of a thumb push.

Rapidfire Plus mountain bikers have been using RAPIDFIRE Plus since 1985. RAPIDFIRE Plus is a preferred choice across a wide range of riders, from XC racers to freeriders. It's ideal for fast shifting and allows riders to downshift three gears in a single motion. RAPIDFIRE Plus shifters, from DEORE to XTR, feature 2-WAY RELEASE, enabling shifting with a finger pull or thumb push.
