Torque Wrenches
A suitable torque wrench is needed to follow specified bolt tightening values. Compare target torque, bit interface and operation. Check torque measurement or limiting function, working range and included bits rather than relying on the name.

A guide to choosing bicycle torque wrenches
Torque and Torx look similar but mean different things. A torque wrench controls tightening values; Torx describes tip shape. A Torx T-handle or three-way key must not be assumed to measure torque. Choose by the component manufacturer's value.
The same tool may be unsuitable outside its range. Read direction, use and storage instructions and consider another range where needed.
- Find the component's torque value and verify it lies within the wrench's range.
- Check hex or Torx shape, size, wrench interface and contents.
- Use model-specific manufacturer information for accuracy, calibration and operating direction.
Does a Torx key measure torque?
Torx is a tip shape. Torque control requires an explicitly specified measuring or limiting function.
Can one torque wrench cover every fitting?
It depends on range and bits. Different required ranges may need separate tools.
