Shimano S-PHYRE SH-TR903 blue triathlon cycling shoe is designed especially for quick transitions and efficient pedaling in sprint and Olympic distance races. The BOA Li2 adjustment, widely opening T1 strap, and easy-to-grip heel ring make it easy to put on and secure the shoe after swimming.

The carbon midsole supporting water drainage, fast-drying mesh panels, and soft lining suitable for barefoot use fulfill triathlon-specific needs. The TR903 is designed for the cycling leg of the race; it is not a running shoe.

From the transition area to the cycling segment

Precise adjustment with BOA Li2, easy entry with T1 strap

The single BOA Li2 dial lets you finely adjust the tightness in small increments. The wide T1 quick-release strap opens the shoe entry for easy on and off. This way, precise fit adjustment and quick closure come together in one design.

Rigid carbon structure and water drainage

The hollow carbon midsole limits flex under pedal pressure while aiding water drainage. Its low sole height positions the foot close to the pedal axis. It has a Shimano stiffness rating of 10.

Fast-drying upper surface and soft lining

Water-resistant synthetic leather is complemented by ventilation-enhancing perforations and fast-drying mesh panels. The soft inner lining considers direct foot contact during sockless rides. This structure does not mean the shoe is fully waterproof.

Heel stabilizer and pull loop

Supportive heel design helps maintain foot position during strong accelerations. The large heel loop provides an easy grip point for pulling the shoe on in transition areas.

Pedal and saddle compatibility

TR903 is designed for three-bolt SPD-SL road cleat connection. Two-bolt SPD mountain bike cleats do not attach directly to the sole. The chosen cleat must be compatible with both the shoe sole and the pedal system.

Adjust the saddle position according to your riding posture. After installation, try the pedal clipping in and out movements with a stable support. For final tightening, follow the manufacturer's torque instructions.

Size and usage preference

Compare your foot length with the Shimano size chart. When between two sizes, Shimano recommends choosing the larger size. Also consider foot width and heel grip together.

Try the shoe as you would use it in a race, with or without socks. Do not tighten the BOA and T1 straps to the point of causing uncomfortable pressure; the closure system does not compensate for choosing the wrong size.

Maintenance: Regularly check the sole connections and closure system. For cleaning, drying, and BOA maintenance, follow the product instructions of Shimano and BOA.
