🚀 Why Park Tool PP-1.2?

Risks of using a screwdriver or flat tool
Many cyclists use screwdrivers or similar metal tools to push back pistons. With this method:
• The piston surface can be scratched (sealing problem)
• Pad residue can damage the piston
• The piston can be pushed back crookedly (sticking, uneven braking)

The PP-1.2 works with a special design that eliminates these risks. Its smooth surface slides over the pads and applies even, controlled pressure to all pistons.

Fast and clean operation
One of the most time-consuming steps in pad replacement is pushing back the pistons to accommodate the thickness of new pads. With the PP-1.2, this process is completed in seconds.

Dual-density handle
Provides comfortable, non-slip grip even with oily hands, without fatiguing the hand during extended use.

🛠️ Usage Instructions

  1. Mount the bike on a repair stand or secure it safely.

  2. Remove the old pads – remove the pads and split pin (if present) from the caliper.

  3. Insert the PP-1.2 – carefully slide the wedge-shaped tip between the pads (or between the pistons).

  4. Gently twist or press – lightly twist the tool until the pistons retract evenly.

  5. Remove the tool – once the pistons are fully retracted, remove the tool.

  6. Install new pads – place the pads into position and insert the split pin.

  7. Squeeze the brake lever several times – operate the brake lever until the pistons seat against the new pads.

Important warning
Do not get oil or grease on brake pads, rotors, or piston surfaces. It is recommended to clean the outer surface of the caliper before the procedure.
