On fixed gear bikes, the rear sprocket is a component that needs to be removed under high torque. The SR-18.2 is specifically designed for these sprockets, which are 1/8″ thick. The chain whip section holds the sprocket while the long handle allows you to easily loosen it.

For fixed gear or cassette removal:

1. Remove the rear wheel from the bicycle.

2. Remove the lockring – Attach the appropriate tool to the SR-18.2's 1″ socket and loosen the lockring.

3. Use the chain whip – Place the chain part onto the teeth of the sprocket, ensuring the pins grip the chain.

4. Tighten the handle – While holding the sprocket steady with the chain whip, use the appropriate tool (or the socket part of the SR-18.2) with your other hand to remove the sprocket.

5. When installing a new sprocket – Assemble in reverse order, paying attention to torque values.

Important warning
Ensure you use the correct tool for lockring removal. On fixed gear bicycles, the lockring is usually left-threaded (loosens clockwise).
